Polyolefins

The polyolefin family is the largest of the commodity plastics and contains two of the most widely used materials in plastics, polyethylene and polypropylene.   These materials exhibit great chemical resistance, wear resistance, low friction, high strength, and cost effectiveness.

UHMW is widely known for its extremely low friction, high impact strength, chemical resistivity, and wear resistance. Common applications are wear strips, bearings, gears, augers, bumpers, and liners. It is also FDA and USDA approved.

HDPE is also a great option when you need higher strength, impact resistance, chemical resistivity, and low moisture absorption. It also meets FDA and USDA guidelines.

Polypropylene is known for its economical pricing and fantastic chemical resistance. Widely used in corrosive environments, polypropylene is lightweight, FDA approved, and exhibits good abrasion resistance. Applications include tank/liner components, pump components, and valve components.
