Putting the final touches on these natural Nylon components by adding a 1/2-14 NPT thread to the back of the part. Nylon is a great material for tough applications that require compressive strength, stiffness, abrasion resistance, and slightly elevated temperatures. This incredibly strong material has a compressive strength value of over 12,000 PSI!!! Additives and fillers such as glass or lubricants can be added to increase strength, reduce friction, and improve heat resistance. Common applications are wear pads, sheaves, equipment stand liners, downhole nose cones, gears, and bushings. Natural Nylon is also FDA approved for food related applications.
